I recently had the honor of photographing a former colleague of mine and her beautiful family. Set in scenic Morgan Hill, this Bay Area photographer mini session was the perfect way to document their lives at this moment.
When Katie followed me on Instagram a few years ago, she didn't realize I was doing portrait photography at first. But when the time came to get her family pictures done, she knew that I will be the first one on her list.
We reviewed some locations in the Bay Area and discussed outfit choices beforehand so they would come prepared. It's always important to consider what to wear to your photography session, as it can really determine the overall vibe of your pictures.
Katie, her husband, and their two children wore coordinating but still individual outfits, a timeless look that matches any season.
Bay Area Photographer Mini Session: Morgan Hill, California
Finally, we chose the perfect backdrop for their session: Calero County Park in Morgan Hill, a beautiful natural setting with an enchanting lake and views overlooking the hills – perfect for capturing those special family moments.
With its 18.9 miles of trails, this expansive park was a great location for Katie and her family to enjoy the outdoors during our mini shoot. The picturesque views in the background really set the mood and captured the essence of a California summer. Alongside family portraits, Calero County Park is also great for maternity photoshoots and engagement sessions!

How Many Photos in a Mini Session?
One question I often get asked is, "How many photos in a mini session?" The answer really depends on the number of people and the amount of time that’s available. In general, I will deliver a personal gallery of 15 high-resolution images following a 30-minute session.
