The Ranch at Silver Creek wedding venue was the perfect location for Kristin and Hammond to showcase their love story. Full of romantic touches, this scenic country estate provided the perfect balance of beauty and intimacy for the couple's celebration. I am so grateful and honored that my friend and former colleague chose me to document their special day!
One of my favorite things about being a wedding photographer is getting to know each couple and their unique love story. Ham and Kristin's journey started at work, where they initially became friends. As fate would have it, the timing was right, and the friendship soon blossomed into what it was always meant to be.
The couple loves exploring the outdoors by going on bike rides, snowboarding, and traveling. It was only fitting, then, that Ham and Kristin got engaged on a snowboarding trip to Tahoe. After a full day of snowboarding, the beauty of the sunset made them stop their car and take a walk around King's Beach. During this magical moment, Ham decided to pop the question – and, of course, Kristin said yes.
Their wedding day at The Ranch at Silver Creek was not my first time photographing the couple. I had previously had the pleasure of capturing their Yosemite Engagement photos, which was such a fun and adventurous photoshoot! So, it was incredibly exciting to get to witness their big day come together.
When you look at the rolling hills of the venue, you can easily imagine this wedding taking place in the romantic Tuscan side of Italy. But with the fresh air and natural beauty of The Ranch at Silver Creek, I believe Kristin and Hammond got the best of both worlds. Snapping photos of Kristin and her bridal squad, who were all dressed in matching pajamas, was a blast!
One tradition that is becoming increasingly popular is the groom's first look. Seeing his bride for the first time in a beautiful wedding dress was an emotional moment, and I am so grateful the couple decided to share it with me. Once the ceremony, which takes place on the perfectly kept lawn, was over, the newlyweds and their guests moved onto the gorgeous plaza courtyard. Here the couple enjoyed a cocktail hour while surrounded by arched colonnades, a trough fountain, and their loved ones.
